(eng.) The Path of Reiki
by Vlad T. Popescu
We wish for ourselves health, but also spiritual growth. How can we put to practice these fundamental desires?
Which are the ways we could go and why should we choose Reiki?
First of all, we start by thinking about having a healthy physical body, afterwards, we find out that we have to take care of our informational/energetic body too, whose disorders or diseases are to manifest, sooner or later, in the physical dimension of our being.
After all, we realize that our today problems are the consequences of our past lives’ problems, that our energetic/informational structure is depending on our past lives’ choices, which had attracted energies and information that we must now balance or even annihilate. We end up by thinking about how we could heal our karma.
The karma is being created in our every day life, by interacting with other people, and until we reach the Buddhist understanding that it is better not to create any karma at all, our common wishes are to protect ourselves against others, to be stronger than others.
On a higher level of spiritual growth, after we have fulfilled the wish to help and do good things, we discover that the main goal we can achieve in our human incarnation is reaching the state of “Eternal Son of God”.
Therefore, what are the methods and techniques, discovered by people in their successive lives on earth, through greater or smaller revelations, that we can access?
There’s the sacrifice, the body mortification through fasting and self-flagellation, it’s about sacrificing one’s life on the sanctuary of a superior belief, and it’s about being an apprentice. This is difficult to apply in a modern society, convenient, lazy, which doesn’t even send its own soldiers to the war risking their lives. And second of all, it’s hard to accept it because it doesn’t care for the human body at all, it burns violently the karma to that moment, but also - and that’s something that few are aware of - it generates just as suddenly a new karma and reveals us to others, for one moment only, and it doesn’t lead automatically to the supreme state of evolution.
There’s the religious way, which has the advantage of a strong health, but ignores some of the healthy epicurean pleasures; it heals the karma, but doesn’t place us distinctively among our brothers and sisters; it offers us the power to do good, but also the technique to hurt; it is focused only on the step-by-step hierarchical ascension to the supreme state, preserved, paradoxically, by the Law to only some of us…
There’s the spiritual “exercise” or “sport”, yoga, qi gong, whose premise is to strengthen the physical health, until we reach the level of the energy-based action, which is to become a unique concern to burst the karma and place us higher than others. The supreme state is accessible to all of us theoretically, but, meant, practically, only to the “great athletes”.
There is also the esoteric method, almost exclusively “mental”; we can include here some of the self-control techniques, which don’t concern the physical health, but aim to fulfill other goals; these techniques, unlike the previous ones, are extremely difficult to pass from a person to another, from a generation to another, and most of the people who follow this path see their selves rediscovering the wheel.
There was a qi gong master (kiko, in japanese), with enough religious experience, who assumed a small sacrifice and tried to understand the meaning of the Tibetan teachings in order to offer us a practical technique, easy to spread, through which we can heal our physical body, but also the energetic one, we can burst with moderation the karma, protect ourselves against and influence others, and, if we want, we can evolve to the supreme state.
His name was Mikao Usui…
Careful with the laic or religious authorities, he didn’t exclude any other practice; he didn’t ban any other form of treatment or spiritual evolution and that allowed Reiki to spread. But, especially in Occident, where we get bored very fast and want all to happen “now!”, this freedom led to the alteration of the methods, so elegant and simple, with elements from the other schools mentioned above. The original system lost from its consistency, contradictions appeared, cracks, that can lead to misunderstanding and mistakes, which are otherwise inconceivable to Reiki.
Yes, you can fast and take your antibiotics at the same time. Yes, you can practice yoga and qi gong as well. Yes, you can take part in religious rituals and deal with esoteric researches. But you must do all of these, “beyond” Reiki, otherwise, you will loose the essence, the efficiency, the simplicity of it.
It’s like trying to apply the Pythagorean theorem outside, being distracted by the river that flows on the hypotenuse of the triangle, paying attention to the people that fish on the bank, thinking about who and when drowned in its waters. Preoccupied to solve these questions, to understand the errors that appear when you look for certain answers, which are also interesting without any doubts, you might forget to apply properly the theorem, that is to find out what is the length of the hypotenuse depending on the two sides.
And because the spiritual “show” seems to be elsewhere and not in the “poor” world of the laying hands therapy, we declare ourselves Reiki practitioners, but, we practice, as a matter of fact, something else!
And this is the way we fail to use the huge potential of Reiki techniques, which are keys to health and spiritual fulfillment, to clairvoyance, to getting in contact with spiritual guides; they show you how to fight and protect yourself, how to use the power of your mind.
Through Reiki, we treat the physical and the emotional body, without ignoring the mental one, we receive information, which, seem to be meant only to the clairvoyants, we transform through the power of our mind the whole Universe and get in contact with superior spiritual entities. It’s a simple, elegant way. Why should we need something else?
What is, therefore, the essence of Reiki, the Reiki path? What is the ultimate teaching that Mikao Usui “hid”? It is in front of us, but we ignore it, even though it can be clearly read…
